24. Arivazhagan is 30 years younger to his father. Write Arivazhagan's age in terms of his father's age.
Arivazhagan's age (A) = F - 30.
25. Answer the following.
i) If 'g' is equal to 300 what is the value of g-1 and g + 1?
ii) What is the value of 'S', if 2s - 6 gives 30?
g - 1 = 300 - 1 = 299
g + 1 = 300 + 1 = 301

2s - 6 = 30
2s = 30 + 6
2s = 36
s = 36 / 2
s = 18
26. Akilan walks 10 Km in an hour while Selvi walks 6 Km in an hour. Find the simplest ratio of the distance covered by Akilan to that of Selvi.
Ratio of Akilan's distance to Selvi's distance = 10 : 6
To simplify, divide both numbers by their greatest common divisor, which is 2.
10 ÷ 2 : 6 ÷ 2 = 5 : 3
27. Give two equivalent ratios of 5:4.

32. If a person reads 20 pages of a book in 2 hours. How many pages will be read in 8 hours at the same speed?
Pages read per hour = 20 pages / 2 hours = 10 pages/hour.
In 8 hours, pages read = 10 pages/hour × 8 hours = 80 pages.

33. Simplify: 20 + [8 x 2 + {(6x3) - (10+5)}]
= 20 + [8 x 2 + {18 - 15}]
= 20 + [8 x 2 + 3]
= 20 + [16 + 3]
= 20 + 19
= 39
34. In a cycle factory 1560 bicycles were manufactured every day. Find the number of bicycles manufactured in 25 days?
Bicycles per day = 1560
Number of days = 25
Total bicycles = 1560 × 25
= 39,000 bicycles.
35. Kumaran has ₹. 600 and wants to divide it between Vimala and Yazhini in the ratio 2:3. Who will get more and how much?
Total ratio parts = 2 + 3 = 5
Value of one part = ₹600 / 5 = ₹120
Vimala's share (2 parts) = 2 × ₹120 = ₹240
Yazhini's share (3 parts) = 3 × ₹120 = ₹360
Yazhini will get more, and she will get ₹360.

37. a) With the help of ruler and Compass draw a line segment PQ = 5.5 cm.

- Draw a line 'l' and mark a point P on it.
- Place the compass pointer on the 0 mark of the ruler.
- Open the compass to a width of 5.5 cm.
- Place the compass pointer on point P and draw an arc that cuts the line 'l'.
- Mark the point where the arc intersects the line as Q.
- The line segment PQ is the required segment of length 5.5 cm.
