Answer:• 14th of November is celebrated as Children's Day (Bal Diwas) every year, in the memory of India’s first prime minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru.
• Jawahar Lal Nehru was born on November 14, 1889, at Allahabad. He was popularly known as “chacha” for his affection towards children.
• It was, because of his love and yearning for children that the day is celebrated as Children's Day every year.
• Earlier, the children’s day was celebrated on Nov 20, as observed by the United Nations. But, after the death of Chacha Nehru, in 1964, the nation decided to celebrate his birthday as Children’s Day to honour his memory.
