The following are the different types of warehouses:
i. Private warehouses - These warehouses are owned, operated and managed by companies for the storage of their goods.
ii. Public warehouses - These warehouses are operated by private parties, but they are under government regulation.
iii. Bonded warehouses - These are government-licensed warehouses. They store imported goods till the custom duties are paid.
iv. Government warehouses - They are owned and managed by the government with the help of public sector enterprises.
v. Co-operative warehouses - They are owned and operated by co-operative societies for the storage of the goods of their members.
